Research on the formation behavior of PTFE/Al reactive explosively formed projectile

Abstract Based on AUTODYN-3D finite element analysis platform, the SPH algorithm is used to simulate forming characteristics of Al/PTFE reactive Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP). The evolution behaviors and distribution morphology, velocity, density, temperature field during EFP were analyzed. Numerical simulation results show that shaped charge can form stable EFP, overall density decreases with extension time, much lower than initial liner. When in state freely flying, high region mainly concentrates tail bottom liner fracture flying zone, proportion significantly affected by explosive type, curvature radius wall thickness
